The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection with two robberies in Gramercy Park.
The most recent robbery happened on Wednesday, November 23 around 6:06 p.m. Police say the victim, a 71-year-old white man was attacked from behind as he was entering the lobby of his apartment building.
Police say the suspect took an unknown amount of money before fleeing the scene. The victim was treated for a broken arm at an area hospital.
The suspect’s first robbery was on Thursday, November 3 at 5:15 p.m. The suspect approached his victim, this time a 77-year-old white man, in the vestibule of the victim’s building before grabbing him and removing money from his pocket.
No injuries were reported in that encounter.
Police describe the suspect as a Black man in his 40s, weighing approximately 180 pounds and last seen wearing a black waist length jacket, red winter hat, blue jeans, sneakers, and glasses.
