This evening a witness reports seeing a dog wander onto melting snow near playground 10 and then letting out a howl and collapsing.  It appeared to have gotten an electric shock–in a pile of cords by an outlet that may have served the lit trees.

The dog apparently had a seizure due to electric shock and is currently recovering at the vet’s office. The vet  says the dog will be OK but it could have been worse.

Don’t walk your dog anywhere near lamp posts or other obvious electrical fixtures especially when covered in snow or slush. Also I assume that with the salt mixed in, the slush is even more conductive .

We need a dog run since we now know that this is NOT A DOG FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT.
